Trip To Pai – October 2016

Traveling was never on my list until I started traveling and exploring new places since February 2016. I traveled almost 5000 km this year to understand the culture of Thailand. The more I travel the more I know about this land of smiles.

You can subscribe to my blog , Instagram , Twitter , polarsteps or Facebook profile for my travel related updates. Following is my complete literary of the travel.

I try to visit the places both known and unknown with the limited budget !! Yes, I try to save as much as money I can throughout the travel with minimalism in the mind. This blog post covers photos my latest travel to Pai (ปาย) a northern Thailand province situated around 150km far north from Chiangmai. You can reach Pai by flight, rental vans, drive a car or by driving a motorcycle. This was my second time traveling to Pai by motorcycle. It is definitely dangerous but it is the only type of travel where you can enjoy the nature.

My last trip to Pai was in the month of June, the atmosphere was breezing but this trip gave me the most strong connection to nature as you can see the clouds passing by to you as well as you can see the rain. Following are the images from the trip.

It is said that “Once you are beaten by the travel bug you will not love to stay inside the walls” and it is so true for me. After my first journey from the north of Thailand to the south of Thailand covering many cities including the historical park of Sukhothai, Phuket, Krabi, Huahin, Kanchanaburi and etc. At each and every place I tried to understand the people and their culture. I got very warm welcome to each place and the more I know Thailand and the people here the more I fall in love with them.

To reduce the travel costing I always keep a tent with the basic amenities with me so you can stay at any national park with some nominal fees and the surround yourself with nature.

For the Pai travel, I love to stay near the riverside, you can get any good cottage near river side at 350THB (~10USD) / night. Unfortunately due to heavy rain couple of months back the riverside hotels were still under the renovation. You can find the best hippie culture at Pai . I love the night market the most. You will find many foreigners visiting Pai for its calmness and the carefree culture.

Another place to visit near Pai is the Chinese village, you can fee the Chinese culture without visiting china. This time, I extended my travel to more 50kms north towards Mae Hong Son. Ban Ja Bo is one of the beautiful places I have every visited. I also get a chance to visit the caves of Tham Nam Lod. One of the places of interest in Pai. I did not get a  chance to look the history of all the places but from my perspective Pai is the must visit place if you love nature.
